Senior Legal Associate

The Senior Legal Associate will work closely with cross-functional teams including Compliance, Operations, Product, Finance, HR, and Business Development to provide timely legal guidance on commercial transactions, regulatory requirements, and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Advisory & Risk Management

• Provide practical legal advice on corporate, commercial, employment, technology, fintech, and digital asset-related matters.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across business operations.
• Support legal strategy and ensure alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor evolving laws and regulations impacting cryptocurrency, fintech, digital assets, and financial services industries.

Contract Management

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of agreements including:
  • Vendor and supplier agreements
  • Partnership and strategic alliance agreements
  • NDAs and confidentiality agreements
  • Service agreements
  • Employment and consultancy contracts
  • Licensing and technology agreements
• Establish contract management best practices and maintain legal documentation.

Regulatory & Compliance Support

• Collaborate with Compliance teams on licensing, regulatory filings, and regulatory inquiries.
• Support compliance with AML, KYC, data privacy, consumer protection, and financial services regulations.
• Assist in responding to requests from regulators, government authorities, and external stakeholders.
• Conduct legal research and prepare regulatory impact assessments.

Corporate Governance

• Support corporate governance activities across multiple jurisdictions.
• Maintain corporate records, resolutions, and statutory documentation.
• Assist with company incorporations, restructuring, and other corporate actions.
• Coordinate with external law firms and regulatory advisors when necessary.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product and Technology teams during product launches and feature enhancements.
• Advise business teams on legal implications of new initiatives, partnerships, and market expansion plans.
• Provide legal training and awareness programs to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
• Qualified lawyer/legal practitioner in at least one jurisdiction is preferred.
• 3-5 years of post-qualification legal experience.
• Experience in fintech, financial services, cryptocurrency, blockchain, payments, banking, or technology sectors.
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts and corporate law.
• Experience working in-house or with leading law firms supporting financial services clients.
